Connect 2-Inch Pond Plumbing to Your AquaBasin System
The Aquascape AquaBasin Plumbing Adapter (2-inch MPT x 1.5-inch Threaded Collar) is a reducing transition fitting designed to connect standard 2-inch male pipe thread (MPT) pond plumbing to the 1.5-inch threaded collar connections used on Aquascape AquaBasin pondless waterfall reservoirs. It eliminates the need for custom-machined adapters or improvised reductions when integrating larger plumbing runs into an AquaBasin system.
Smooth Transition Between Pipe Sizes
Pondless waterfall systems often pair large-diameter supply lines from high-volume pumps with the AquaBasin's connection points. Without the correct adapter, the difference in pipe sizes creates a leak-prone connection or requires an extended run of reducers and couplers. This single adapter bridges the step-down cleanly, maintaining flow integrity and minimising potential leak points in a buried plumbing run.

How to Use
Thread the 2-inch MPT end into the corresponding female fitting on the supply line, using PTFE thread tape on the male threads for a watertight seal. Thread the 1.5-inch collar end onto the AquaBasin reservoir fitting by hand until snug, then tighten a further quarter-turn with pliers. Do not over-tighten PVC fittings. Test the joint for leaks at the pump start-up before backfilling the reservoir.
Ideal for AquaBasin pondless waterfall installations where the pump or supply piping uses 2-inch connections and needs to interface with the AquaBasin's standard 1.5-inch threaded ports.
