Protect Exposed EPDM Liner Edges From UV and Wear
Aquascape EPDM One-Sided Cover Tape (15 cm x 7.6 m / 6 in x 25 ft) is a wide, single-sided butyl rubber adhesive tape designed to cover and seal the exposed top edge of EPDM pond liner where it exits the water and transitions to the surrounding landscape. Applied over the liner's above-waterline section, it shields the EPDM from direct UV exposure, physical abrasion from foot traffic near the pond edge, and mechanical damage from landscape tools.
Seal and Protect the Most Vulnerable Section of Pond Liner
The section of EPDM liner above the waterline is exposed to the elements year-round and receives none of the protection that soil and water provide to the submerged sections. UV radiation gradually degrades unprotected EPDM at the surface transition zone, and this degradation is where the majority of above-ground liner failures begin. Cover tape applied over this zone extends liner service life significantly in exposed installations by creating a protective barrier over the UV-sensitive surface.

How to Use
Clean the liner section to be covered with EPDM Surface Prep and allow to dry. Apply EPDM Tape Primer to the liner surface and let it become tacky. Peel the release liner from the cover tape and press the tape over the liner edge, centring it so half the tape width is below the waterline and half above. Roll the tape firmly with a hand roller to achieve full contact adhesion. Cover the tape with decorative stone or soil to protect the tape's exterior surface from direct UV exposure where possible.
Ideal for sealing and protecting EPDM liner edges at the top of pond walls, waterfall spillways, and stream banks where the liner surface is exposed above the waterline and subject to UV, abrasion, and mechanical stress.
