Crucial Winter Setup Tip

Don't super-cool your pond water! When using this aeration kit during freezing months to keep an opening in the ice (as shown in the diagram below), it is vital to adjust the depth of your air stones.

DIY Expert Note: During winter months, you must move the aeration discs up to a 2-foot maximum depth, or half the distance from the bottom of the pond. Leaving them at the very bottom during winter will mix the slightly warmer, deep water with the freezing surface water, which can be detrimental to hibernating fish.
