• Combating Summer Stagnation: Warm water holds less oxygen, and larger fish (like Koi) demand high oxygen levels. This unit runs four separate diffusers to circulate water in multiple zones, ensuring fish don't gasp for air during hot nights when plants stop producing oxygen.
• Winter Gas Exchange: In freezing conditions, a hole must be kept open in the ice to allow toxic gases to escape. This aerator is strong enough to maintain that opening even in harsh winters.

Protect your fish from super-cooling! When using this high-output aeration kit during freezing months to maintain an opening in the ice, proper placement of the air stones is critical for fish survival.

DIY Expert Note: During winter, do not leave the air stones at the bottom of the pond. You must move the aeration discs up to a maximum depth of 2 feet (or half the pond's depth). Placing them too deep in winter mixes the warmer bottom water with the freezing surface water, which can kill hibernating fish.
