Pre-Greased Pressure Seal (Old Part 19475)

The Atlantic Water Gardens Viton O-ring (32mm × 4mm cross-section, SH70 durometer, pre-greased) replaces the primary pressure seal in Oase pond filter and UV equipment previously catalogued as part number 19475. Viton O-rings provide exceptional resistance to UV-treated water, ozone, chloramines, and the wide temperature range of outdoor Canadian pond environments — making them a significant upgrade over standard EPDM or NBR seals in demanding applications.

Viton — The High-Performance Seal Material

Viton (fluorocarbon elastomer) outperforms standard rubber O-rings in pond equipment applications for several reasons: it resists ozone generated by UV clarifiers, maintains sealing force over a wider temperature range than EPDM, and is compatible with the full range of pond treatments including algaecides, clarifiers, and chlorine. The SH70 hardness rating provides the right balance of compression and recovery for the specific groove dimensions in compatible Oase equipment. Pre-greasing with a compatible seal lubricant ensures correct compression without rolling or pinching during installation.

Dimensions 32mm OD × 4mm cross-section
Material Viton (fluorocarbon elastomer)
Hardness SH70 durometer
Condition Pre-greased for installation
Legacy Part Number 19475 (Oase/Atlantic)

How to Replace

Depressurise and drain the housing before opening. Remove the old O-ring and clean the groove thoroughly — old lubricant, debris, or seal fragments in the groove prevent a proper seal. Install the new pre-greased Viton O-ring by hand without tools, ensuring it sits evenly in the groove without twisting. Reassemble and test for seepage under full operating pressure before considering the repair complete.

Ideal for pressure seal maintenance on Oase pond filter and UV equipment across Canadian pond seasons.
