EasyPro Ultimate Tube Media, 3.5 cu. ft. (0.099 m³) for Pond Filtration

EasyPro Ultimate Tube Media is a high-surface-area biological filter media included standard in EasyPro pressurized bead filters and available separately for custom filter builds. Each cubic foot contains nearly 1,750 sq. ft. (163 m²) of surface area for beneficial bacteria colonisation, supporting the biological filtration that breaks down fish-toxic ammonia in koi ponds and water gardens.

High Surface Area for Rapid Biological Colonisation

The round, tubular design with multiple internal baffles creates far greater usable surface area than smooth bio balls or similar media of the same volume. Beneficial bacteria establish colonies on the internal baffle surfaces and process ammonia and nitrite continuously as pond water flows through. The 5/8" (16 mm) diameter by 3/8" (10 mm) long tubes create minimal flow resistance, making the media suitable for both pressurized and gravity filter applications. This is the same media shipped inside all EasyPro PBF bead filters.

How to Use

For bead filters: the UTM media is pre-loaded at the factory; use this bag to top up or replace worn media. For custom filters: load the media into a biological chamber with adequate flow-through and an outlet screen to retain media. Rinse with pond water before first use to remove dust. Do not rinse with chlorinated tap water, as this will kill beneficial bacteria once the media is colonised.

Ideal for adding biological filtration capacity to koi ponds, water gardens, and fish systems where ammonia control and water clarity are ongoing priorities through the Canadian pond season.
