Replacement Carbon and Coarse Filter Pad for Pondmaster PM500
The carbon and coarse filter pad for the PM500 combines two filtration functions in one layer: coarse mechanical pre-filtration that traps debris, and activated carbon that absorbs dissolved organics, odours, and water discolouration. Use it when water clarity is good but the pond smells or looks faintly yellow or brown from tannins and dissolved organics, situations where mechanical filtration alone is not enough.

How to Use
Install in the PM500 pre-filter stage in place of the standard coarse pad. Carbon capacity exhausts within one to three weeks depending on dissolved organic load. Once saturated, it stops absorbing. At that point, rinse the pad in pond water to restore mechanical filtration function, or replace with a fresh carbon pad to continue chemical absorption. Do not use when fish are being treated with medications, carbon removes medication from the water.
Fits the Pondmaster PM500 pressurized filter only. Recommended for ponds with tannin discolouration from leaf debris or persistent organic odour despite good mechanical filtration.
