The foam filter pad in the ClearGuard 16 is the fine mechanical filtration stage: it captures the smaller particles that coarser pre-filters pass through, producing the final clarity improvement before water returns to the pond. When the foam compresses or deteriorates, fine particles bypass it and water clarity drops. This replacement restores the full filtration stack performance in the ClearGuard 16.

How to Use
Remove the filter cover and existing foam pad. Rinse the new pad in pond water before installing, never tap water. Seat the pad flat against the filter retaining ring and replace the cover. Rinse the pad in pond water every 2 to 4 weeks during the season; replace when it no longer recovers its original thickness after cleaning. Avoid squeezing the pad dry, this damages the foam structure and removes beneficial bacteria.
Fits the Pondmaster ClearGuard 16 pressurized filter only. For best results, replace the foam pad and coarse pre-filter on the same schedule.
