Pondmaster PMK1500 Filter Kit, 500 GPH Pump and PM1000 Filter
The PMK1500 increases circulation capacity from the PMK1350 by pairing a 500 GPH pump with the PM1000 pressurized filter. The higher flow rate turns over pond water more frequently, improving gas exchange and filter throughput for ponds with more fish or higher organic load. Components are matched for compatibility, and all fittings ship with the kit for straightforward initial plumbing.
More Circulation for Higher Stocking Density
As ponds grow from lightly stocked to moderately stocked, ammonia production increases and biological filtration needs to keep pace. The 500 GPH pump passes water through the PM1000 filter faster, increasing the volume of water processed per hour and reducing the window for ammonia to build between filter cycles. This kit suits ponds up to 1,500 gal (5,700 L) with koi at moderate stocking levels.
| Pump Flow Rate | 500 GPH (1,900 LPH) |
|---|---|
| Filter Model | PM1000 pressurized filter |
| Recommended Pond Size | Up to 1,500 gal (5,700 L) |
| Fish Load | Moderate stocking |
| Installation | Submersible pump, pressurized external filter |
How to Use
Submerge the pump at the deepest point in the pond. Route pump output to the PM1000 filter inlet, then return filtered water to a waterfall or return jet. Run continuously 24 hours a day, biological filtration depends on uninterrupted flow to maintain bacterial populations. Backwash the filter every 2 to 4 weeks or when return flow visibly drops.
Ideal for ornamental ponds and koi features from 1,000 to 1,500 gal (3,800 to 5,700 L) where higher circulation is needed for fish health and water quality.
