Watertight Seal for Biotec Filter Connections
The Oase Biotec 12–36 / 18000 / 32000 O-ring provides a watertight seal at connection points within the filter housing. O-rings degrade over time from UV exposure, chemical contact, and repeated compression cycles, eventually allowing water to seep past joints and reduce system pressure. A fresh O-ring restores the factory seal.
Prevent Slow Leaks and Pressure Loss
Even a small leak at a filter joint drops internal pressure, reducing the flow of water through the media stages and lowering filtration efficiency. Because the O-ring sits out of sight, the only symptoms are often a damp area around the filter base or a gradual decline in water clarity. Inspecting and replacing O-rings during annual maintenance prevents these issues.

Installation
Shut off the pump and drain the filter if necessary. Remove the old O-ring from its groove, clean any debris or mineral deposits, and seat the new ring evenly without twisting. Reassemble the joint hand-tight and restart the system to check for leaks.
Ideal for seasonal maintenance on any large Biotec filter — keep a few spares in your maintenance kit.
